What We Stand For
Our Manifesto is a declaration of the values, attitude, and ethics we uphold at the festival. It expresses what we expect from winemakers, and what we invite our guests to celebrate – your craft, your passion, and your dedication.
Harmony with Nature
Ever since 2012 we have been fostering links between producers of healthy, flavourful wines and the wine-drinking public. We believe that the future of the wine world lies in winemaking that is in harmony with nature, where respect for tradition combines with an understanding of modern concepts of sustainability.
Pioneers & Followers
The pioneers of this type of winemaking have an increasing number of young and enthusiastic followers, while the community of those who appreciate wines and food made according to natural and ethical principles is also growing. This is a positive sign for the Earth: natural production based on sustainable principles benefits the planet while also contributing to the well-being and health of present and future generations.
Healthy, Flavourful Wines
Healthy, flavourful wines are inseparably linked to their terroir and the winemaker’s philosophy. They are produced in harmony with nature. In both vineyard and cellar, winemakers ensure the use of protective and oenological agents is measured and restrained. They avoid systemic pesticides and artificial fertilisers. All processes in the winery are as spontaneous and judicious as possible: from fermentation, via natural clarification to bottling without filtration. Added sulphites are kept to a minimum. The wines are free of faults and flaws.
Responsible Farming
Winemakers are responsible farmers with a profound commitment to the ecological diversity (biodiversity) of their environment. They uphold the harmonious interaction of all three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social and economic. They strive to enhance the reputation of their region and the entire community of winemakers and wine lovers.
Wine as a Postcard
Winemakers are custodians of the cultural landscape and the specific identity of the place their wine comes from. Each of their wines is an expression of their estate, like a postcard inviting wine lovers to come and visit.
